Mikhail Sidlin

Curator, critic, expert, art historian, educator, and photographer. Curator of the first solo exhibition hosted by GUM-Red-Line ― Oleg Kulik’s “Painting w/o Responsibility” (2019), as well as the exhibition-dialogue “Art Battle: Orlitsky vs. Tuzov” (GUM-Red-Line, 2020). Since 1993, curator and cocurator of over 30 solo and group exhibitions of contemporary art and photography, including “White Ticket” (12 artists, Zverev Center of Contemporary Art, 2022/2023), “Extinguished Rainbow” (Eva Arakcheeva, Zholtovsky Tower, 2021), etc.

Professor at the Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia (2007―2020). Worked at “Nezavisimaya Gazeta” (commentator, department head) in 1996―2005. Wrote over 50 articles for books and catalogues of various artists, including Vadim Gushin, Peter Karachentsov, Vladimir Lagrange, Andrey Mitenyov, Tatiana Nazarenko, Yuri Rybchinsky, Valeria and Natalia Cherkashin, Dmitry Tsvetkov. Author of several hundred articles published in over 30 Russian and foreign publications since 1993.
