Georgy Ostretsov

Born in 1967 in Moscow. Graduate of the Bolshoi Theater Art School. From 1984 till 1986 participant of the first art-squat Detsky Sad (Kindergarten). From 1988 till 1998 Georgy lived in Paris where he worked in collaboration with fashion designers Jean-Paul Gaultier and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. After his return to Russia, Ostretsov began actively working within the art community, showcased his works at top galleries, represented Russia at the 53rd Venice Biennale (2009). Ostretsov became one of the first Russian painters whose works were exhibited in British collector’s Charles Saatchi’s gallery. In 2017, on the day of his 50th anniversary, he opened his personal exhibition at the Palazzo Nani Bernardo – I’ve been abducted hundreds of times! Ostretsov’s artworks have been included in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the State Center of Contemporary Art (Moscow), as well as private collections of Frederik Paulsen, Laurence Graff, Roman Abramovich, Simon de Pury.
